Question: low-level toilet leaking from joint to waste pipe, even when bowl and cistern are empty. How to fix please?
The waste pipe is inserted at the back of the toilet into a waste pipe going to the sewage system. It’s been badly sealed in the first place and 1) I am NOT going back to that guy; 2) I have no money for a plumber, so it’s diy time. I cannot stop the leaking to make it dry for using silicone sealant. Someone suggested Denzo tape, but what is it in French?!? Cheap, clever help would be appreciated.

Question: Hello i’m not DIY , but is it easy to fit a toilet bowl or will i need a plumber?
Answer:
Answer by Truly Madly It’s not complicated, as long as the pipework is the same as your old one. Sometimes they have different levels where the waste pipe at the back fits, not to mention the height and position of the cistern outlets and inlet. Check these are all in the right place, then it’s just a question of unscrewing the old one from the floor and pushing the new one into the same position. Get some sealant to finish the job and prevent leaks from the waste pipe.
Question: Plumbing problem! Tub drain gurgles when toilet is flushed, and bathroom and kitchen sink drain slowly…?
Okay, so we moved into a home built around 1950, I have no idea what, if any, plumbing has been updated. All pipes under sinks are pvc type. Here is the thing, the tub gurgles when the toilet flushes…happens on and off. The bathroom and kitchen sinks drain slowly. I have cleared the pipes under both sinks, so the problem is past that area. The washing machine drains fine, as does the shower. So, do you think Liquid Fire poured into the slow drains will work or is the problem connected to the gurgles in the tub? I really would love to not have to snake the main line…considering this is my first experience with plumbing. Also, we literally have zilch money to hire a plumber at $ 75 perhour minimum…would like to take a diy approach is possible…

Is your toilet a rocking horse? Does it go like this, back and forth? It’s not normal. Okay a few tools you’re going to need for yourself: First of all you’re going to need a pair of pliers, an open-end wrench, a screwdriver, and something to scrape with, because we’re going to be scraping some wax seal, and this is a chisel. Alright, now we’re going to shut the water off. What we want to do is take this shut-off valve here, and we want to turn it to the right, right is tight. Now we’re going to pop the caps off the base of the toilet, so basically you want to take the blade of the screwdriver and you want to just basically try to turn it so that it pops up. Now we’re going to back the nuts off that hold the toilet to the flange. We have an adjustment wrench, we’re going to take this nut, we’re going to back it off, couple of turns, you want to take these off and set these to the side. Alright, so just for the sake of the safety effect, I want to move the tank cover and I want to set this aside, so, I don’t need to lift this as I lift the toilet up off the floor. Next thing I want to do is take …
