My bathroom sink is not draining fast enough, is there a product that can help with ventilation?

Question: My bathroom sink is not draining fast enough, is there a product that can help with ventilation?
When my plumber installed the pipes for my bathroom sink, a vent stack was not installed. I saw a Diy tip that would help with this, but I didn’t know the name of the product. Can someone please help?

the plumber should have vented the sink this is a code requirement in most states. you must either have one installed or u could buy a p-trap kit that comes with a spring load vent this is cheaper but sometimes illegal too.

Why is there a legal liability for DIY remodeling programs to show making electrical connections?

Question: Why is there a legal liability for DIY remodeling programs to show making electrical connections?
They have electrical videos that show this, and they all have a disclaimer on the screen that appears before the video. Why can’t the DIY TV shows simply show such a disclaimer, then be able to show electrical connections being made without any worry about liability?

On a given remodeling project that involves electrical work, they show all the non-electrical work being done, but they simply say “An electrician will make the final connections later.” without actually showing any of it.

I’ve seen them show making plumbing connections, even soldering copper pipes and fittings. So why are electrical connections any different? In fact, they are far easier to make than most plumbing connections.

People always fear what they don’t really understand and most people don’t have a clue about electricity including television executives and their lawyers. You can bet the guys or girls doing the actual electrical work have the same question you do. They just get overruled by the idiots who happen to pay the bills. Ignorance is terrible disease but it is very widespread.

I wired my own house expansion and it was not only fun, but easier to work out the details than I thought it would be. However, it was physically demanding to cut all the holes and run the wiring throughout the house. I added 1700 square feet and it took a month for me to finish the electrical work by myself. Everything works great and the wonderful thing about electrical is if it ain’t right it will surely pop your circuit breaker.

Are there speaker cushions to dampen floor vibration?

Question: Are there speaker cushions to dampen floor vibration?
I live on the second floor of my apartment complex. I also really like dubstep, techno, rap and other heavy bass music. My downstairs neighbors on the other hand do not like it when I crank my stereo up high. I was wondering if there were any ideas out there for cushions to put on the bottom of my speakers to reduce bass transfer to the floor? I’m not above DIY projects and I would prefer to spend as little money as possible. Suggestions?

Answer:

Answer by Filip N
DOOF DOOF DOOF DOOF!
Have you tried anything yet around the house? Like old blankets/pillows. Also, I don’t think you can reduce the vibrations much really, they come from the low frequency sound – the bass you like so much. Not entirely from sound but, mostly from the sound, which is air. You’d have to foam your entire room walls then.

Is there any DIY-way to cost-effectively repair a leaky chimney with no existing flashing?

Question: Is there any DIY-way to cost-effectively repair a leaky chimney with no existing flashing?
The house is about 40-50 yrs old, and the roof/chimney has never had flashing. Recently moved in and faced with intense flooding in the basement. Need a cheap way to fix this, even if only temporary! Any input at all would be greatly appreciated!!

Answer:

re flash it,roof sealant on that, check the rain guard on top of the chimney too to see if it covers the hole enough to keep the water from going down the hole,it needs a gap in between the chimney and the rain block at least 4 inches apart,so the smoke can get out.
