you can get the whole roof redone. which will cost about 5000 to 10000 but you could also get a coack( pronounced like co-ck). I know that sounds weird but that is a tool used to fill up holes.

the best trick is to invite a builder to quote on how much the works will cost and while he is doing a quotation – ask him questions, saying that you want to do this and that, but don’t know if it’s legal or not.
even if he asks money for the survey – it will be well worth it.
Or pay the architect for the drawing – which shouldn’t cost that much for the garage, will help you imagine what goes where and he will know all the building regs as well – so you can feel free to ask him about them!

need garage roof insulation help!!!?

Question: need garage roof insulation help!!!?
im 16 and basically me and my mates are turning my garage into a game room type thing. its fairly old but will be good in the summer etc.

anyway we got some carpet and painted the walls and everything, but the roof still remains. i am in no way any kind of DIY expert but my gramp knows a thing or two so any kind of work done will be by him.

anyway at the moment the roof is a metal type thing like this…

http://www.filterforge.com/filters/2140.jpg

not very appealing in what will be our game room. so im asking what kind of options for insulation or just generally anything that can make it look better do i have.

taking the roof of is pretty much out of the question and it needs to be as cheap as possible. i not thinking of anything fancy just anything that looks better than dirty metal roofing :(

i was maybe thinking cardboard/wooden sheets or something but tbh i have no idea about DIY

any help will be much appreciated!

you can install a drop ceiling but depending on the size its not very cheap. one car garage would be like 200-300. I would just leave it how it is. it will give it a industrial feel which is popular now.
