I recommend that you do not “DIY”.
It is not that simple, otherwise “colourists” would not need to be trained.

My boyfriend and I rescued some old tiles that had been left over from work in another house and now we want to put them on our bathroom floor which at the moment is just rough cement. We tried to find someone professional but no-one available so we thought we’d do some DIY. HGTV.com, DIY.net are just a few great websites.
All you need is the proper tools and grout. Ask the person at home depot or whichever home center is near you. There are plenty of books and magazines near the registers of home depot for you to look at.
Question: How to seal porous tile floor in new home?
We are about to purchase a newly built home and the builder told us we will need to seal the tile on the kitchen floor and in the shower surround. The tile in the kitchen looks very porous. We are not really good DIY’ers. Should we hire someone to do it, or is it easy? What kind or product will we need, or if we hire someone what is an approximate cost/sq ft. TIA

If memory serves me right, it’s very simple. You just need to seal it with a silicone product that should be available in any flooring dept. i.e. Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
My awesome Carsponsors vid: www.youtube.com I am replacing copper pipes from the attic which burst from freezing over the winter. The replacement piping is PEX, a plastic piping on the market which is much easier to work with than copper. I am using gatorbite couplings which require very little work and are very easy to use. I have a plumbing problem because my house stinks after I take a long shower. The smell is from under the house. I have a septic tank and it’s not full. If I crawl under the house what am I looking for? An open pipe? vent? and what does it look like.
The tank is 100 ft in front of the house. It smells like methane gas.
I am a DIY and will crawl under the house to fix it if I can.
