Question: How do I stop mice/rats getting in using wire wool?
I recently had a rat and mouse problem in my flat as they were living in the roof of the building and coming into the flats. We’ve now had the all-clear from the pest controller but I want to block off the holes they were using to get into my flat.Does this wire wool stuff work with both rats and mice?Do you just put it into the hole or do you then have to plaster over it (and, if so, how and with what – I’m a DIY novice!)

Use Chore Boy brass dish scrubbing pads. Cut each one up and put that in the hole. Because it’s brass/copper, it won’t rust and leave stains down the side of the building.

You just stuff it tightly into the holes. Mice and rats do not eat steel or brass.
If the are climbing through roof vents the best thing to do is to place wire over the top of the vent pipe. You do not want to clog a vent pipe, there’s a reason something needs venting.
